My laptop speakers stopped working after a Windows update. The volume icon shows everything’s fine, but there’s no sound at all. I tried restarting, checking settings, and even plugging in headphones—nothing works. Windows says the driver is up to date, but I’m not sure if that’s true. Has anyone else had this issue? How do I fix it?

That’s classic Windows update drama. Sometimes updates mess up existing drivers, especially audio ones. Try rolling back the driver in Device Manager first. If that doesn’t help, go to the manufacturer’s website and download the latest version manually. Worst case, uninstall the driver completely and restart—Windows should reinstall it automatically.
